finally, some GOOD news.
As my days and weeks grew just shittier and shittier, and every bit of good news was later trumped by fuck-all shit news (even beyond what I've written here, MORE shit got worse from there if you can believe it) - something GOOD happened today. 'Bout fuckin' time.

The apartment I'd set my sights on earlier this week, and took a few hours off of work these last few days to look at, fill out applications for, etc. I was approved for and I'll be moving into next weekend. Thank fuck.

Below, in the cut, is the view of me standing almost against one of the walls in what is to be my room, looking into my bathroom. Nad gets a bathroom in his room, too. In fact, his is the more private bathroom while mine is the "public" one, as you can tell from the multitude of doors. Still, this makes it nice 'cause I can close off my room for the night and still keep Bouschka around without him waking me up to go eat or use the bathroom. Ditto for when Laura stays over and needs to use the bathroom, she doesn't have to hunt around my darkened room for her clothing and can instead just waltz into the bathroom butt-fuckin'-nekkid, giving me the added benefit of watching her make the nekkid walk. Ahh.. Laura. How I miss my beautiful goofball concubine. I hope she's doing well, haven't heard from her in some 5 days now. But I digress.

In our living room, we even have a FIREPLACE. That just rules. We'll be living only 2 streets away from Hollywood & Highland, so the neighborhood is just killer. Nad only has a 5 minute walk to and from the subway station, so his commute just got painlessly short. We're also only 1 street away from our friend (and his boss) Tracy. So, I'll have a jogging buddy once I get up the umph! to get the fuck outta the house once in awhile.

This weekend I have to actually pack all my stuff. I've decided it's that time in my life where I need to look through this amassed collection of old boxes and throw out shit I'll never need or want. If you think "ehh.. no biggie" you should realize that I have things in boxes that I've had in boxes since before I moved to my first apartment at 18. Seriously, I have boxes that I packed before moving to Seattle, and I've still never unpacked in the 5+ years since I've left that place. I kept telling myself that "one day... I'll be realy happy I didn't throw THIS away" but having never even bothered to open most of those boxes to look inside ONCE in the last 3-4 years, clearly there's nothing I can't live without. The major benefit, of course, of finally getting rid of all this shit is that I'll at long last have a compact space, a full closet to use for clothing (and not just boxes) and keeping things organized and clean will be MUCH easier. Viva La Streamline, baby!

I would write more here, but I'm really trying to avoid sounding like a whiny bitch. So, I'm keeping my head up as best I can until I get more good news that I can post here. C'mon... good news, no whammies.
